Congratulations Nicole who the trustees have appointed as (acting) Community Events Officer. Nicole will take the lead on organising Shropshire’s presence at a number of community events over the year. These events are a great way to promote our local chess clubs to a wider audience. We are now looking for a regular crop of volunteers to join the events team at the different events.
2 further events are in the works:
– Sunday 29th June, Armed Forces Event @ donnington field, 11-4pm
– Saturday 23rd August and/or Sunday 24th August, Telford balloon festival @ Telford town park, (times & which days tbc)
It will mainly be helping with things like :
-Transporting equipment, Set up / put away.
-Handing out leaflets/flyers.
-Answering any questions about chess play and/or the clubs.
-resetting the boards.
-Playing/supervising chess and encouraging people to play.
