A written complaint was made to the Shropshire President that a Shropshire player had been using electronic assistance during the 20/21 Season. The President called a Special Committee, which investigated this complaint and then referred the matter to LiChess. LiChess carried out their own investigation before suspending the relevant account. The player then appealed this

Shrewsbury Chess Club extend an invite to Shropshire players to their opening night following the recent suspension of OTB. This is on Friday 28 January at their new venue, the Nerdy Cafe in Mardol, Shrewsbury. Members will be present from around 7pm and the cafe is open until 11pm. There is a cost of £1.

Following a meeting today of the Shropshire Chess Association Council it has been agreed that SCA OTB activities can resume with immediate effect. League matches will resume on Monday 7 February. The Covid Protocols previously agreed and available here will remain in force. Minutes of the meeting are available here.
