Following a meeting on 19 December of the SCA Council, all OTB activities of Shropshire Chess are suspended until further notice, in light of the current covid situation. If clubs or individuals have proposals arising from this – eg on the implications for the online league – please send them to SCA President Matthew Clark.

A reminder to all OTB home captains – please enter any results as soon as possible after a match into the web scorecard in order to update the tables.

Captains and nominated players for the current season can be found here. Please can captains provide any missing nominations to Adrian ASAP. Sadly Maddocks have withdrawn from the online league.

Newport B have withdrawn from Division Two of the OTB league. None of their fixtures had yet been played, and the revised fixture list for the division is here.

The Shropshire Chess Online League 2021-22 commences week beginning 15 Nov. Matches are to be played by captains’ agreement within the stated week, rather than on a specific named date. The league is being run via the ECF League Management System. As well as the fixtures and results, LMS provides player details including Lichess usernames
