The Association is looking to recruit a new Chair of the Outreach Committee. The committee will be tasked with establishing new chess clubs in towns across Shropshire. In particular Ludlow and Whitchurch are 2 of our largest towns who do not currently have a chess club. The trustees believe the growth of online chess and the popularity of all chess means these towns are tinder boxes (especially Ludlow) waiting for Shropshire Chess to strike a match. Your role would be to help get a club off the ground by:
– Identifying a local player who would ultimately take control of the club as secretary. Youwill provide guidance and support to this person until the club is established.
– Assist this person in identifying potential members for this club through social mediaadvertising and other outreach.
– Assist them in finding a suitable venue.
– Shropshire Chess will financially support a new club in its early stages through provision of a budget that you will manage.
– Supporting the first club nights with your physical attendance until the club is established
