The Staffordshire Chess Congress is returning in August. The Congress will be held at King’s Hall, Kingsway, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 9SB on Saturday 16th and Thursday 17th of August 2025. I found out this year that Alan Shaw sadly passed away a number of years ago. Alan inspired numerous current shropshire players in their youth to take up chess and was the inspiration behind the Nerdy Junior Chess Club. An obituary for Alan is now available here.
