The ECF have released details of their next online arbiter course. An arbiter qualification can allow you to earn a little bit extra at the weekends whilst still allowing you to be involved with chess. The going rate for arbiters is currently around £60/day (although I’m sorry to say all Shropshire events are run by volunteers).
Some may wish to attend the course not with the intention of becoming an arbiter but instead to fully understand every last rule of chess including the grey areas.
