Entries are invited for the Colin Roberts Memorial Prize, a brilliancy prize for the best game played over the board in any competition anywhere by a Shropshire player in the 2022-23 season.
Please send your entries to organiser Toby Neal at langrishcaiger@aol.com, ideally in PGN format so the games can be uploaded to the Shropshire chess website and played over.
The winner will be chosen by a yet-to-be-selected panel of independent judges.
The competition excludes internet, blitz, and quickplay games (n.b. the internet restriction had been lifted during the pandemic when no over the board play was possible).Deadline for entries is July 3, to allow Crewe congress games to be potentially included, and the intention is to select a winner in time for the Shropshire Chess Association annual meeting on July 24.
